Made for my students, friends, & family!
In the past few years, I have led a healthy aging program for an Area Agency on Aging, which serves adults over age 60. Many older adults are living with a chronic diseases, at risk of falling, and losing the independance to stay in their homes. A solution to this growing need is evidence-based programs that are funded to help aging adults. I began teaching evidence-based programs and making videos for my students to practice outside of classes. The Healthy Aging library is dedicated to resources to support aging adults, share evidence-based programs, and keep fitness fun and accessible at any age!
I began making videos during the pandemic to support my students, which continued into the idea to make an online course of practice materials. This collection of videos and guides comes from working with active adults in a fitness facility as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Many active adults have great existing fitness routines but will benefit from incorporating mobility, flexibility, balance, stabilization, and release techniques. These practice videos are here to support overall fitness goals and active aging!
Flexmyability is a play on the word "Flexibility" and the intent to explore my ability to help others!
